MUMBAI: Music release of Bollywood film, "Hari Puttar",
a story of a young boy fighting two criminals takes place in India's
entertainment capital, Mumbai on Friday (August 29).
'Hari Puttar-a comedy of terrors', slated to open in cinemas on September 12, is
the story of a young boy fighting two criminals who try to steal a secret
formula devised by the boy's scientist father.
The Music release function was attended by music director, Aadesh Shrivastav,
child artist Zain Khan who is playing the lead 'Hari Puttar', and Sweeni Khera
besides others.
Shrivastav said that it was great experience composing music for a children's
film.
"When you compose music for children or children's film, it feels good because
it is a great experience, you have your own children and you relate to it," said
Shrivastav.
There have been reports that Hollywood's Warner Bros., which owns the rights to
the Harry Potter movies, is suing the producers of the film over similarities to
the international film and literary phenomenon.
But according to reports, the producers of "Hari Puttar" said they had
registered the title more than two years ago and the film bore no resemblance to
the "Harry Potter" franchise.
Zain Khan, child artist, was visibly excited about his character. When
questioned, he dismissed that the movie had anything to do with 'Harry Potter'
series.
"This movie is totally different; it has got nothing to do with Harry Potter. It
is a series of jokes, tricks and it is a fun film," said Khan.
In October last year, an Indian court allowed a community group in the eastern
state of West Bengal to create a replica of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and
Wizardry, rejecting a petition from author J.K. Rowling for copyright breach.
The British creator of the boy wizard Harry Potter and Warner Bros., which
controls the rights to the series in India, had sought 2 million rupees
($50,000) in compensation from the group, which had erected the structure for a
Hindu festival.
