MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta spoke about
her role in upcoming flick 'Saas Bahu Aur Sensex' (mother-in-law daughter-in-law
and sensex), an urban comedy that portrays Indian women in a different light in
India's showbiz capital Mumbai.
Produced by Jayshri Makhija and directed Shona Urvashi the film stars Tanushree
Dutta, Ankur Khanna, Kirron Kher, Farooq Sheikh and Masumi Makhija.
Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta said the reason that tempted her to take up
the film was that it offered her a role with a difference.
"I liked the role. The character I was playing on screen gave me an opportunity
to do something different from my previous movies. The look of the film and the
look of the character are also different. The glamour quotient is low and there
is more intensity in the performances. I play the role of a girl next door
something, which I have not done, in my previous movies. It is a comedy film,
there are light moments in the movie, the script was good… so many reasons,"
said Tanushree.
'Saas Bahu aur Sensex (Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index)' is an urban
comedy about the changing face of India. It is film about how the women are
moving away from typical 'saas bahu sagas' (mother-in-law daughter-in-law soaps)
and showing interest in stock and share market. The film also shows how women
can handle home and office with equal ease.
Devolving further on her role in the film 'Saas Bahu aur Sensex' Tanushree Dutta
said, "I play the character of 'Nitya', she lives with her mother and comes from
a broken home. Her parents are divorced and she has a strange relationship with
her mother, due to this she is a very complex person. The character shows how
her life progresses through the film."
Raqueeb Alam, Blaaze and Monica Nath have penned the lyrics, while Bipin and
Randolph Correa have composed the music of the film.
The film is slated for September 19 release. |
